U.S. tech giant Apple said the launch of its touch-screen digital reader will be held off for a month for overseas markets because of high domestic demand. The iPad, released last week in the United States, had “far higher” sales than expected with more than 500,000 sold, Apple said Wednesday, eWeek.com reported. Apple said it would take online pre-orders for overseas customers on May 10 and would make the iPad available in Europe, Australia, Canada and Japan at the end of May. Ian Blanton, director of Tech Superpowers, an Apple repair company and reseller, said customers would be forgiving.
